Week 1: May 28 - June 1

I am back at Auburn for another summer and ready to learn. I arrived on Memorial day and got settled in. Tuesday, I met with Dr. Seals to get to know some of the new people that I would be working with this summer. This has been a rainy week so far. Dr. Seals has already introduced us to some virtual reality hand held objects, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and they are all very interesting. By the time the summer is over, hopefully I would have came up with an idea of my own to contribute to those. On Friday, we all visited Tuskegee, and it was an amazing experience.
Week 3: June 11 - June 15
This week, we were introduced to the people working on spectrum so that we could get familiar with it and help them out. I was here last summer and learned a little about it, but this will be my first time actually contributing to it. I have also been messing with the microbit to see what all it is able to do. Other than that, I have been working on literature and powerpoints. I am looking forward to helping Dr. Seals facilitate a camp so that we can get more students interested in Computer Science.

Week 5: June 25 - June 29
This week was really busy. Dr. Seals had us helping with tiger camps on Monday and Wednesday, and boys and girls club on Tuesday and Thursday. We also had our preliminary presentations on Spectrum, microbits, and makerspace. We had to make sure we had something done since the holiday was coming up.
Week 6: July 2 - July 6
This week I continued to work on the scenarios Dr. Seals had assigned us for the Spectrum tool. My favorite one was the easily distracted student. We basically had to create a real scenario in a classroom using GoAnimate. Other than implementing those scenarios, this week was laid back. Next week, we will be working on the wireframes for the scenarios so we can start coding them in HTML for the actual Spectrum tool.
Week 8: July 16 - July 20
This week I worked mostly on my poster so that it would be ready for Friday. When Friday came, I was very prepared and I think I did a great job. The poster browse was very nice, and there were a lot of people that did some interesting work this summer. I was also introduced to some Unity and Java tutorials to expand my programming skills. I may continue to work on a gaming project with Dr. Thomas during the fall semester. For the remaining 2 weeks I have here, I will continue to add scenarios to the Spectrum Project and work on the BedMed project with Dr. Thomas.

Week 2: June 4 - June 8
By this time, I am all settled in, and it did not take me long to remember most of the places from last summer. Some of the same people are in the lab with from last summer as well. Dr. Seals invited us to the annual cookout on Wednesday. As far as our work, I have been working on literature reviews and powerpoints  on mobile and online learning. That will be until she assigns us a permanent project. Some of the interesting technology she has introduced us to are microbits and mergecubes. There is so much you can do with those objects. I am looking forward to creating something educational so that younger students could be interested in STEM.

Week 4: June 18 - June 22
This week we started on the new spectrum website. We are basically replicating the website that is already made, but they want it on a different domain. We also helped Dr. Seals with her first camp. It is amazing how the young men and women were so engaged in what we had to show. Wednesday, we attended a defense, and it didn't seem that hard, but I know when that time comes it will be a challenge. Throughout the week, we tried a few different restaurants, and I would advise anyone to try Pannie George's if they came to Auburn. Next week we are scheduled to do a preliminary presentation, so that is my main objective as of now.
Week 7: July 9 - July 13
It is almost time to wrap the summer up with only 3 weeks left. We have until next Friday to complete our posters, so this week I will make sure I am at least 75% done with it. I have all of my literature for it, and most of the other information will not take long to put together. After we present our posters, we will still have 2 weeks left to continue implementing scenarios for spectrum and adding to our literature reviews.
